Using the open square bracket will display link suggestions.
Is there something similar that can be used to display anchor suggestions.

No there isn’t for the moment. You could open a jira at Loading...
You should explain how you’d view the feature working. In the WYSIWYG link dialog for example?
It would indeed be very useful. On my side I use the Wiki editor and I’d love to have the link autocompletion there (this is Loading...) and having the anchor one too would be just awesome
