Confluence imported page with columns don't fit the page

Hi,
in one of the pages imported from a Confluence Space (on a XWiki 14.10.12 in a Debian VM), a large part of the page contains a chart with several columns, with some on the right part hidden out of the body container of the page.

It is then necessary to use the arrows on the keyboard in order to see the hidden columns. (7 columns, 2 hidden).
Also the charts imported have visible separations between the lines but no visible separations between the columns. (Just a blank space instaead that allows seeing colums).
The theme used is the default XWiki theme.

Is it possible to request a switch that would allow folding the right and left sidebars, in order to leave more space for the body?

In Confluence our client makes a large use of the boards with lines and columns for the organisation : Is there an alternative method that you could suggest to address this board/chart issue? Would the idea of folding sidebars be adopted for the default XWiki skin?

Hi @jmarkoll

I’m happy to see that you’re using XWiki.

However, I’ve just noticed that you’ve created 11 threads and posted replies on 21 on this forum. I’ve reviewed them quickly and I see you’re mostly asking for help but not helping others much. That’s not great since you’re getting free support (in addition to a free software), and not giving back much in exchange. As you probably know, open source works by having a balance between giving and receiving.

Most of us helping on this channel are employed by the XWiki SAS company which is a small company and we need users of the XWiki software to give back to be able to continue the development of the XWiki open source software. There are several ways of giving back: by contributing code, by helping others, by doing translations, etc and also (this is what helps the most if you can’t help with the code), is by taking a support contract from one of the sponsoring company (or even sponsoring some features).

It would be great if you could give back in some manner!

Thank you

Hi @vmassol your are right on one part and wrong on the other part :

I am not using XWiki, I am only testing peculiar features which are requested for one of our client’s company to be able to migrate from a Confluence which is on premice (before Confluence stops supporting on premice, at the beginning of next year). I have been exchanging emails with Mr Jean-Sébastien Dennebouy who pointed me in direction of the forum for asking questions.

This migration from our client’s Confluence instance to XWiki (on premice with paid support) which is considered for the end of the year is delicate, with appearantly a handful of macros which aren’t supported (I counted several on one space imported), we will have several dozen spaces to be imported when ready, some being very large, and some hickups have already been met (Confluence migrator tool didn’t work, I tested manually, then got help on the forum and found a way…).

We have to ensure a smooth migration with as little interruption possible in the workflow. (even with the help of the XWiki SAS company)

Believe me I would be quite unable to help anyone around XWiki things at this stage! (But I could report things that I notice, once a while, though I am not sure all will seem interesting to your team).

By the way, you can consider my above post as a form of bug report on the side of the importation feature.

You are right on the need for helping other users in the world of Free software, which is something I have constantly been doing over the last 19 years (next year will be the 20th birthday of my first Mandrake Linux installation - btw you can visit one of my most important contribs at linuxvillage.org, my nick there is melodie).

Once our technical Director will be satisfied enough with the tests ongoing, our company will sign a contract for a yearly support with the batch of paid extensions needed.

Meanwhile I do ask questions, which then once answered can also be useful to other people here. Else, I don’t start new threads without having first done a search on the forum and on the web (where I often can find the threads to the forum).

I will be looking forward to some answers to the question asked, and will ask again questions on the forum, I hope you don’t mind, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to provide details about my difficult task.

Also, thanks for all your work, the tool, the extensions and also the documentation which is very abundant and helpful.
