Editing comments

Hi! Editing comments on an XWiki Debian 17.2.2 instance running on Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS seems to fail: it is impossible to edit them.

When clicking the edit button the first time, the previous contents appear very briefly, then disappear. Successive clicks on edit lead to an empty edit window. Any new content will replace the former one.

I can reproduce it using fully updated Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari web browsers on several Linux, macOS, and Windows flavours.

I don’t know when this behaviour appeared. I’m trying to edit my own comments. And my user is an admin on the site.

Is anybody else seeing the same? Any idea? Thanks!

Hello,

it’s indeed a regression that appeared in 17.2.0: Loading... it’s been solved and the fix will be part of XWiki 17.3.0 that is planned to be released today.

That issue isn’t listed among the regressions in the 17.2.0 RN page: https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/ReleaseNotes/Data/XWiki/17.2.0/ although the other one for 17.2.0 is there.

Yes we’re aware of that: @tmortagne tried to improve a bit that regression box recently to list more issues than what we used to display (we use to only display the one discovered for current version and we should display older ones impacting current version too), but we have a problem to find proper JQL query for that (JIRA is apparently not good with dealing with < and > operators for versions…).
