Emeritus Committer Team on GitHub

Hi committers,

Right now we have 2 teams at Sign in to GitHub · GitHub. I’m proposing to create a 3rd one to keep track of Emeritus committers (see https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/Committership#HEmeritusCommitters). In that team we wouldn’t add any repo.

This has 2 advantages:

  • It’s a recognition for past committers
  • If an emeritus committer asks to become a committer again, we can check him/her from the list and easily move the team he/she belongs to.

Once agreed, I’ll start cleaning up the committers list to keep only active committers as defined at https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/Committership#HActiveCommitters

WDYT?

And we can add a link from https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/HallOfFame#HEmeritusCommitters to the github emeritus team.

Seems there are 2 issues:

  • I’m added as a member since I created the team. Maybe I can remove myself once someone else is added but then I may not have permissions to change this team afterwards
  • I can’t find how to add someone, it seems you can only invite someone

Actually invite does an add, so that works fine.

Thanks,

It’s now implemented at Sign in to GitHub · GitHub and I’ve updated https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/HallOfFame#HEmeritusCommitters

Note: I’ve removed myself and I can still manage the team so all is good.
