While I was using this forum today I noticed something that annoyed me a lot.
The automated Logout function. I know it is a security relevant feature and I think it is a good one but when I’m browsing on this site and every 30 minutes or so the logout pop up comes up and I have to refresh the page and go back to the topic I was looking for it gets really annoying.
Is it possible to say that the logout pop up only shows up if the user was inactive for a couple of minutes? So it doesn’t come up while you are reading or searching something?
Most of the sites with a login have that feature implemented too but if you scroll there or click on something the timer gets reset (maybe to a smaller amount of time), so you won’t get disrupted while browsing the forum.
That’s weird, I never had to log in once since the first time I did it when @vmassol opened the forum . When I come back after more than 24h I’m always automatically authenticated.
I don’t remember configuring anything about that in my profile.
Hmm okay, I’ve already encountered this “feature” at least 3 times since I posted my first topic today. And I guess that was about 2 hours ago…
I didn’t find any options in the preferences so I guess it is not configurable for users.
Same here. I don’t have to log in again. So I’d check that you have cookies enabled in your browser.
Well, since the last time this happened I didn’t have to login again either… I don’t know what the problem is/was. I’ve enabled cookies in my browser so this shouldn’t be the issue… I’ll write back if it happens again. Till then -> everything is fine
