PDF Export Application not available from Extension Manager

Howdy, per the following release notes:

I was attempting to setup the PDF Export Application, as this would help solve a PDF rendering problem for my users. However it does not appear in the Extension Manager as an option to be installed. I am happy to download it and install manually, but as the documentation states the preferred method of installation is via the Extension Manager, I wanted to check in and make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong.

I’m using XWiki Debian 14.3.1. I have just upgraded from 13.4. I see a new note about extension indexing at the bottom of the page that says “Indexed on 2022/05/14 12:23. Any modification made after that to a remote extension wont appear.” This would mean the indexing occurred before I searched for this extension.

Thanks for any assistance!

We had a Solr problem recently on xwiki.org and while it’s been fixed on Solr side it looks like I forgot to tell XWiki to refresh the index which might explain why some recent extensions like this one are missing.

I started the indexing on both node, should be better shortly (looks OK for me, but might be OK on one node and not the other yet). I will check again later today when the index is fully done on both xwiki.org node.

Seems to be all OK on both nodes now.

Thanks for the response! I am self-hosting XWiki, is there something I need to do on my end to refresh the index? This is what I see when I search for PDF Export:

Thanks!

I unchecked the “Indexed” checkbox and it shows up in the search results.

I honestly do not know what that option means, but if that is the intended behavior then it is working! I find that workflow a bit strange to be the default experience, so I am guessing it should be showing up in an “Indexed” search.

Thanks again!

It probably means your local index is not up-to-date yet, you can force it by clicking the Reindex button, but the automatic index update should have executed by now.
