Remove a page translation

Hi,

Is there a way with recent xwiki version to remove the translation of a page? (and of course not deleting the page itself).
FAQ answer is yet : “No” (see https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/WebHome2).

Thanks,

Hi @xrichard,

The correct answer is: Yes, a translation can be deleted without deleting the original page or any other translation of the page. And there is a simple way to do that.

History is stored separately for each translation. So if you delete all versions in page history for a particular language, the translation will be gone. Keep in mind the operation can’t be undone.

It’s probably late to answer this for you but hope others find it useful.

Cheers!

Thanks.

I’m not sure to understand your answer: how to “delete all versions of a language” in page history? because I do not see any “language” column in page history …

And the FAQ page looks broken … see screenshot for https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/WebHome2

Maybe it’s been fixed, looks ok to me:

There’s currently no UI to delete all translations of a page. However you should be able to delete each translation, see Re: [xwiki-users] Remove a translation

The JIRA issue is Loading...

Thanks

ok I didn’t scroll enough, I can see the error too!

I’ve now moved the old FAQ entry to the new FAQ: https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/How%20do%20I%20remove%20a%20translation%20of%20a%20page%20without%20removing%20the%20page
