I meant simply trying:

{{velocity}}
$xwiki.getDocument("XWiki.ErniBerni123").
{{/velocity}}

The result is

XWiki.ErniBerni123.

but it is only working in a special ā€œMembersā€ area not in public visible area ā€œPublicā€

hmm you said above you have not put any right for the XWiki.ErniBerni123 page… could you double check this? You should check the rights on the XWiki space since that’s where the rights would be set.

I will check this with a colleague who is familiar with the assignment of the rights

Only Admins and members of the group Members can see this page.
When a new user registers, they are initially only a member of the group [XWikiAllGroup] with no rights to see this page.

ok so that probably explains the problem. I guess you could raise a jira issue for this use case. We could imagine adding a check in the script to not fail in this case.

How can I do this?
(I’m actually so glad that we migrated from Confluence to xWikii. That’s why I always get nervous about Atlassian products now)

See https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/Contributing#HReportanissue

Glad you’re happy to use XWiki. Not sure I understood what you meant when you said Atlassian products make you nervous though.
