Activate the new CKEditor image dialog by default

Hello all,

The new CKEditor Image Dialog has reached a point where it covers all the features of the old image dialog (and more: image gallery selector, image style selection…).

Therefore, I’d like to propose to make it the default CKeditor Image Dialog.

Note that it will still be possible to switch-back to the old image dialog from the administration.

WDYT?

+1, we should also create a plan to stop supporting the old image dialog to reduce maintenance cost I think, maybe starting in 15.0?

+2!

as a layman I hope the ‘change current picture’ experience of the new image dialogue is improved; (my) users have issue using ‘back’ for this functionality and reportedly get ‘lost’.

Thanks, may I ask to report your issue with as much details as possible on jira.xwiki.org please?

Naturally, that’d be the least I can do;

Thanks,

+1 to have it in 14.10

+1 for 15.0. It could be dropped altogether or better moved as xwiki-attic extension if possible (even if installable manually only).

  • Replace ‘Back’ by ‘Change Image’
  • Also replace ‘Document Tree’ image selection by a shorter ‘Tree’ label

That should do the trick, thanks!
