Backup 11.10.2 and then Restore it to 15.10.13

Hello,
Here’s my situation:
I have an older XWiki installation (version 11.10.2) running on Ubuntu 16.04 with Tomcat8. I’m trying to migrate to either XWiki 15.10.13 or 16.9.0.

I followed the Backup/Restore instructions on (https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Backup)
, but the process failed, stopping at 50% with errors related to Java codes (shown in the attachment) during initialization.

My main priority is preserving the XWiki pages and their attachments. I don’t mind manually reconfiguring other setting in the new system as long as I can access the superadmin.
Is there a simpler way to accomplish this migration?
Thank you!

BTW, I use MySQL.

Never done this before, but I’ve read here that’s generally advised not to export-import, due to different versions, but to upgrade instead.

You’re jumping over 4 major releases, it is very likely that implementations and document structures aswell could be different (read not compatible) between the two.

Yep, see https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Backup#HUsingtheXWikiExportfeature
