Bottom page panes behavior when consulting a specific version of a document

Hello all,

Currently, when consulting a specific version of a document, the panels at the bottom of the page display the information of the latest version of the document.
This is true for:

  • comments
  • attachments
  • history
  • information
  • UIXs for the org.xwiki.plaftorm.template.docextra UIXP

While each pane has its own way to address this, it can be difficult to understand where the displayed information come from for the users, or why some actions are not available.
To give a concrete example, for the attachments:

  • the list will display attachments that are possibly not the usual ones
  • uploading, moving or removing attachments actions won’t be proposed to the user.

To make it clearer, I propose to add a generic message, for instance:

This is a read-only view of the attachments of XXX on version X.Y.

While each pane will be in charge of displaying its own message (or not if the pane does not support being contextualized for passed revisions), what do you thing of the general idea?

Thanks,
Manuel
