Concept of spaces in Xwiki

Being a user of Confluence in the past, I am struggling with the analogy of Confluence Spaces in XWiki.

I am trying to find a way in XWiki to set up the concept of Spaces that allow me to define logical access through security groups (linked to AD security groups). This is what Confluence Spaces allow me to do.

Is the only way to achieve this in XWiki through the use of sub-wikis? I cannot find how to do this using XWiki spaces.

Hello, I was aware of this page and had read it before. It is still not clear to me whether security can be set per group of nested pages (=XWiki spaces)? I have not succeeded in doing this yet.

Yes, you can set permissions at page level for the page and/or for the page and its children (i.e. for a space).
