File Storage not on Disk

Hi,

is it possible to store files or attachments in an other place than disk or database? For example in nextcloud, or over rest api in an archive?

Hi, not sure what you mean by files.

For attachments, yes you can implement your own Attachment Store and configure XWiki to use it. Some users are storing attachments in Amazon S3 for example.

I think we’re missing documentation for this but basically you need to:

• Implement xwiki-platform/xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-platform-oldcore/src/main/java/com/xpn/xwiki/store/XWikiAttachmentStoreInterface.java at b868ed45558efa16656fcfdb94fa66018de87afa · xwiki/xwiki-platform · GitHub in a xwiki component (there are tutorials about writing xwiki components)
• Use xwiki.store.attachment.hint = hibernate in xwiki.cfg to tell XWiki to use your component

It’s not been shared and there are none available on extensions.xwiki.org unfortunately…
