Hi devs,
During 13.x we said that we would stop BFD and instead do one week out of 2 of bug fixing for stabilizing it. However it seems that was too ambitious and as a result we’re loosing even more the battle against bugs.

Some details:
- Real bugs reported
- 2018: 119
- 2019: 107
- 2020: 230
- 2021: 306
- Real bugs fixed
- 2018: 479
- 2019: 407
- 2020: 486
- 2021: 309
- Ratio reported/closed:
- 2018: 402%
- 2019: 380%
- 2020: 211%
- 2021: 100%
This seems like we’re clearly going in the wrong direction on the ratio bugs closed vs new bugs reported, and 2021 was a bad year.
At the date of today:
- We’re loosing by 593 bugs over 1600 days. Reminder: we used to be at 0 over this period at some point.
- -277 over 500 days
- -202 over 365 days
- -38 over 120 days
I propose that we set as our 2022 challenge, the “reasonable” goal of going back to 0 over 365 days
If we extrapolate from the 2021 figures, this means roughly closing 4 more bugs every week. It seems like the weekly BFD could achieve this.
WDYT?
Thanks
