Hi there
We use the blog application for release notes. For internal use this is okey but if we want export the release notes for example for our customers there are always the following information on the export:
The author
permalink
comments
and the categories
Is there a possibility to hide this informations in a blog? Is it possible over the “attributes”?
We display it with the blogpostlist macro.
Would that fit your needs better? It provides several advantages over using a blog (like structured content that can be searched, aggregated release notes and more).
Everything’s possible but you’ll need to do some customization (the blog app is made of wiki pages that can be edited). You could even decide to hide elements only when doing a PDF export for example.
However I really suggest you test the Release Notes App which is meant for this need.
Hi
I’ve installed the Release Note App. I can create new Release Notes and Release Changes, but I don’t understand how I can display on one page a list of all changes from one products.
Can you explain me that or make an example?
Tank you

Hi, I think this Release Note App is to powerfull as we need. And because of this I would prefer, to use the Blog Application and hide the Information after the entrys. But how can I do that. I think it can’t be too difficult. Maybe you can give me an hint how to do this? Thank you for your help.
Could you explain more the issue you see? I’d like to know what to do to improve it. It’s supposed to be extra simple to use so there’s something I don’t understand.
I already tried to do that in my first reply I can’t give you more details though since I don’t know how to do it, would need to review the code of the blog app, understand it etc. Also note that if you make changes to it, then you could have merging issues when the Blog app is next upgraded. I don’t think it’s a good idea to make changes to the blog app.
Hi Vincent
Thank You for your reply. Now we have dicided to use the Release note App. If I need more support, I will ask, but at the moment I think I understand the application more or less…
