How can I make my XWiki visually look like MediaWiki?

Hi there,

I’m looking for a software to replace a Mediawiki instance in the faculty where I’m a professor. I’ve just stumbled upon Xwiki.

I want to switch because maintaining a MediaWiki instance can really be a pain (I have no IT skills and staff is very limited).

In my opinion, keeping the MediaWiki layout would be important for this to work, since students are very used to it.

Having that said, I must confess I’m a huge fan of Vector Skin’s simplicity and beauty,

Are there any documented skins, macros or codes to make it look like Vector? I couldn’t find any.

Thanks!

FTR the Vector skin seems to be this one: Skin:Vector - MediaWiki (Skin:Vector - MediaWiki).

Everything is doable but there’s no default skin that mimicks the Vector skin of mediawiki. You’ll need to create a custom skin for that (you’d need to know HTML/CSS). See http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/DevGuide/Tutorials/Skins/ and http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Skin%20Application

Thank you!
