How to install Knowledge base flavor?

Hi,

I’m trying to create a new wiki with another flavor other than the Standard one, but I cannot find any or install any? After looking at the Flavor documentation I am even more confused… There is talk of a “Knowledge Base” flavor, but I cannot install it via the extension manager? How can I find these other flavors exactly?

There’s currently one flavor published by the XWiki core dev tea, it’s the “Standard Flavor”. I’ve updated https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/UserGuide/Features/Applications#HFlavors

You can create your own flavor though if you want.

Well, a flavor is not more than a set of extensions and installing new extensions on top of the Standard flavor is very easy with the Extension Manager.

Sure, but if I wanted to create a new wiki like a knowledge base with no wiki functions, I would have to build my one, it seems.

Not sure what you mean by “wiki functions” precisely but that’s going to be very hard to remove I think if you mean for example page versioning, ability to rollback, ability to create links between pages, etc.

EDIT: If you mean to hide the features, then it’s easy.

I was under the impression that a “knowledge base” flavor would provide a wiki not intended for editing by outside parties. For example, If I wanted to share software documentation on a public space, but without the editing features of a full-blown wiki.

That’s just permissions to set up, it’s config.
