I have a problem and a question regarding the Notification Extension

Hello together,

First, the problem: I can’t set a notification for the main page via the notification button - when I press safe, nothing happens.
Through the profile settings, it’s only possible to set notifications for the main page and there child pages.
Is this a known bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Second, the question: I want to set notification settings for the main page as the default for all users.
Is this possible, and if so, how can I do it?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

could you share screenshot of what you’re trying to do exactly? Also do you have any errors in the browser console? Or in the logs of the server?
And can you provide the version of XWiki you’re using?

In Administration > Social > Notifications it’s possible to create a filter that will be applied for any new user: currently the changes there don’t impact already existing user. See also https://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Notifications%20Application/#HCreateglobalnotificationfilters
You could create it for already existing user, but that would need some specific script right now.

Thanks for the fast answer!
We are using xWiki Debian 16.6.0.

I open the main page and click on “not configured” (“Nicht eingestellt”).

Then i click on “Follow Page” (“Seite folgen”) and press “Save Changes”
(“Änderungen Speichern”)

Now the selected radius box resets and nothing happens.

Thank you very much!

Is there already an existing script, or must I create one?

There’s no such script to my knowledge, so yes you’d need to write it yourself for now. Note that we have an issue for improving this Loading... and more specifically Loading...
