Issue when selecting a tag on a page v 15.5

I’m having a strange problem with version 15.5.
When I add a tag that has been previously used (i.e. by clicking on that tag when it is shown in the UI) I am immediately redirected to a null page. Because this does not exist XWiki offers to create it.
Can anyone shed any light on what might be happening here and where I can look to fix it?
