Issue with Office Import

Hi everyone,

I have a fresh installation of Xwiki with the Office Importer Application installed. I am running a virtual machine using Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

I installed Libreoffice-common using the command below.

sudo apt-get install libreoffice-common

Using a tutorial, I configured the following lines: xwiki.properties

openoffice.serverType = 0
openoffice.serverPorts = 8100,8101
openoffice.autoStart = true
openoffice.homePath = /usr/lib/libreoffice

I have checked the office server status in Global Administration, and it says it’s connected to the office server.

However, when I attempt to import a Word doc by creating a new page and selecting Page from Office as the template, I get an error message in red at the bottom of the browser screen saying:

Office Import failed: Error while converting document [test.docx] into HTML

I have tried different docs, small and large, and I get the same error.

Do you have any ideas, please? I’ve tried a couple of test installations and get the same error every time.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone got any idea on this? I’ve done a fresh installation and am still getting the same problem. It’s a real show-stopper for me.

An update, I installed the whole office importer and this resolved the issue.

sudo apt-get install libreoffice

I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before
