We used FontAwesome Icon macro a while (XWiki v13.10.6). But now there is the displayIcon macro (XWiki 15.10.11). So we consider to deprecate the first one (as the /-quick action is much more cooler). But currently the icon set seems much larger in the first macro then the second one.
Both is font awesome (at least in our setup) but we only see the first one. Is there a known reason? What can I do to enlarge the set of the second built in macro?
Just a wild guess, the first macro maybe includes font awesome icons from the web sources, the second one only displays the font awesome icons that are included offline into xwiki itself.
The iconpack included in xwiki is relatively quite limited, but it ensures that everything in it works offline and also don’t create possible data security issues or similar. Of course it would be nice if it would be bigger.
The offline icon pack that is included in XWiki should contain the full free subset of the FontAwesome icon pack, but it is not the current version (we have a Jira issue about that).
