Authenticated user can see the Menu as expected

but rendering for unauthenticated user is broken (seems like some CSS not loading)

Showed content and Menu Application are in different sub-wikis. Both have publicly available content. Menu is set with global visibility scope. The layout is broken in another sub-wiki even with different Color theme.

Hi Peter,

The Menu’s styling is loaded by a separate request to the skin extension on the Menu.MenuMacro page of the wiki where the Menu application is installed (e.g. /xwiki/wiki/<menuWiki>/ssx/Menu/MenuMacro?...). Guests need view right on that page; otherwise that request fails and the menu is displayed unstyled, even though its items (which come from a different page) are visible.

Could you open your browser’s dev tools (Network tab) as a guest and check the status of the ssx/Menu/MenuMacro and jsx/Menu/MenuMacro requests? If they fail with 401/403 or redirect to login, check the view rights of unregistered users on the Menu space / Menu.MenuMacro page (and the wiki-level rights) of that sub-wiki. Note that granting view to a specific group implicitly denies it to guests.

If the requests return 200 with CSS content, then it’s something else and it would help to see the response and any errors in the server logs.

ssx/Menu and jsx/Menu are not loading at all from the sub-wiki without Menu Application installed

it is missing in the stylesheet list in html/head of requested homepage

It is loading in the problematic sub-wiki after login, but under different resource path wiki/bin/[jsx,ssx]/Menu and from the sub-wiki of Menu Application under wiki/{sub-wiki}/jsx/Menu.

Still facing the issue with unauthneticated user.

Just discovered another issue with styling modification of menu.menu-horizontal class in Theme.

The CSS code of

.menu.menu-horizontal {
background-color: #ffffff;
}

change the menu backgound in the preview pane on the right side, but after the save it is not effective in Wiki page view. That is caused by overwriting the Theme modification with CSS from MenuMacro.

This might be bug.
