Missing images appear after accessing old page version

Hello All,

I have a page with missing images, i.e. they appear like below:

  1. If I click on the file from the attachment tab, I get an “attachment does not exist” error.
  2. If I then view a previous version of the page they appear.
  3. When I visit the latest version of the page (either on the same PC or another) the images are present again.
  4. However, if I come back to the page a few minutes later the images have disappeared yet again.

Any ideas?

I solved this issue by downloading the old images and uploading them again with the same file names.

Would still be interested in any suggestions as to why viewing a previous version of a page causes what appears to be some kind of cache error.
