Move Message Stream to the attic

Hi everyone,

so it’s been voted in Deprecate and remove Message Stream from XWiki Standard to deprecate and remove Message Stream from XS.

So I will mark all API as deprecated as part of 16.7.0. And I propose that we move the module to the attic as part of 17.0.0.

I’m opening a vote for 1 week, until the 8th of August so that I can document this properly.

Here’s my +1.

Will install the latest 16.x as an optional extension on 17.0.0 work ?

Besides the fact that the extension is broken already I don’t think so: AFAIR Message Stream also depends on some templates in xwiki-platform-web (e.g. for notifications). That I was thinking of just removing from XS after moving the module itself.

Then I’m wondering if it is really worth creating an attic repository, one can always go get the source in xwiki-platform git history or in the Maven repository.

+1 (I thought it was already voted though).

Re attic, I think it’s good to do it as it makes it simpler if someone wants to resume work on it (rather than track the sha1, etc). But I’m also fine if we don’t do this.

Sure, but it’s not really possible here since part of what this feature needs is going to be removed according to @surli.
