Hi,
I see that this extension Numbered Headings seems not to be updated since year 2012 and this version didn’t add numbers to the toc.
Is there a way, maybe using XWiki Syntax 2.1, to gain a similar behaviour or should we still have to use only this solution?

you can use: http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/TOC%20Macro#HExample4:TOCnumberingcorrespondingatNumberedHeadings and customize SSX object or create/use an SSX object with CSS styling your toc
