Hi! After, at least apparently, an sucessful upgrade from XWiki 17.2.2 to XWiki 18.7.0 running on Ubuntu 22.04, the only “error” message I’m getting when triggering the extensions updater is related to org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-rendering-wikimacro-ui
I can’t reconstruct the history of that extension. I guess it is an older module that gets bundled.
But could you help me confirm it? How to get rid of the message? Why is Updater still looking for an update if it is no longer an independent extension?
I’m guessing you are working with an instance that was created a while ago and regularly.
org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-rendering-wikimacro-ui has been removed in XWiki 9.1RC1 (https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-14538).
Since then, the Extension Manager is probably checking needlessly for updates of this module that is not released anymore.
You can uninstall the module to stop getting this message.
When an extension ID is obscure, locating and inspecting its .xed descriptor can reveal the human-readable application name and provide the clue needed to find the offending extension in the Extension Manager.
I found the .xed file using sudo grep -R "xwiki-platform-rendering-wikimacro-ui" /var/lib/xwiki.
Then I inspected the descriptor and found the
property, which revealed the actual application name.
Next, in “Global Administration: Extensions”, I searched for “Wiki Macro Application”, reviewed the uninstall plan, and uninstalled it.
