Possible contributions to the Installation Guide

Hello all,

After a fairly vexing problem with Apache FOP, I believe I’ve identified some issues with Tomcat and XWiki on OpenBSD. I can see under ‘Other Installation Methods’ on the official installation guide (https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Installation/) that different operating systems are covered with their own addendum on installation.

I have a production XWiki that I’m maintaining for our development group, and it is on OpenBSD 6.3. I would be happy to contribute our installation buildsheet, and update when appropriate for new versions of OpenBSD.

How may I contribute this buildsheet?

Hi. There are multiple ways to contribute documentation. You could make a Draft on https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/ or you could write on your personal blog/platform and add the external link to the “Other Installation Methods”, like you’ve mentioned.

In theory you could modify the official documentation too without issues (since it’s a public wiki), my comment about Drafts is since you’ve mentioned you have a custom build or a specific configuration.

Thank you, Evalica.

I wasn’t aware it was publicly editable. The most appropriate place would seem to be “Other Installation Methods”. I should be able to export the page as HTML and put it up on a server.

Have a nice day
