Problem 'Add Gadget' button keeps spinning on Debian Buster/10

I’m continuously running into a problem when I try to add a gadget using the green ‘Add Gadget’ button, but it keeps spinning forever.

Some googling indicated a web browser cache issue, but that did not help (I’ve even tried several other browsers).

Then I’ve clean installed XWiki Debian 12.10.2 on a new VirtualBox VM with Debian Buster/10 Linux distro. Prior to install, I’ve fully upgraded and updated the Linux VM. Then I installed xwiki-tomcat9-mariadb following the installation instructions [here].((https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Installation/InstallationViaAPT/))

I’ve also updated JAVA_OPTS as indicated in the above mentioned instructions and ran the distribution wizard successfully using the ‘XWiki Standard Flavor’.

Then I simply created a new page using the ‘Dashboard’ template, edited it and wanted to add a new gadget by clicking the green ‘Add Gadget’ button, but then the button keeps spinning forever.

I’ve opened the browsers development tools and viewed the console. It came with messages as shown in the screen shot below.

The same thing happens on the standard ‘Dashboard’. As said in the beginning, this also happened on another VM holding basically the same Debian Buster/10 Linux distro.

Could anyone please assist?

Thanks in advance.
