I want to know if I can index a document from within a link or if I can index remote files? Like if I put a shortcut into xwiki, will it index the document that’s inside the link.

Do you mean indexing for the search? As far as I know it is not possible to include remote documents, at least not with the standard search. I can imagine that an extension can be written that does something like it, but as far as I know such an extension does not exist yet.
