Reinstallation of an Empty XWIki site

Hello

I have an instance of XWIki and it got installed as an empty site. I want to restart and install the standard flavor.

On the machine I have removed the xwiki distribution, deleted the permanent directory and dropped the database and rebooted the machine.

I then restarted from what I thought was zero. However when I start tomcat again the empty Xwiki reappears. Its driving me mad. There must be a cache somewhere.
Anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks for your feedback

Hi, you need to remove xwiki’s permanent directory, see https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Configuration/#HConfiguringDirectories

Hi
Thanks for the quick reply.

It wasnt the permanent directory as I recreated the directory /xwiki/data which is defined in the xwiki.properties file.

Using permanent directory [/xwiki/data]

I did solve this by removing the tomcat directory work/Catalina/localhost/xwiki/ .

I was then able to start up the normal installation . So it was tomcat and not XWiki cacheing the Empty site

Thanks for your help anyway
