Renaming the "Docextra" Tab

Hi everyone!

There is a possibility in XWiki to create a new tab at the bottom of the page that can be opened to show additional content. Currently, this area is referred to as “Docextra” in the documentation, see: Document Docextra.

However, “Docextra” might not be the most intuitive name, especially for documentation readers and users. It’s not immediately clear what the are contains. This thread is meant to brainstorm better terminology for this area of the page.

Some suggestions that came to my mind are:

  • Extended: because it reflects the idea that this area extends the main document view by offering additional, secondary information without leaving the page.
  • Insights: because it suggests that the area contains some knowledge about the document.

WYT? Do you other name ideas?
Thanks in advance for participating in this discussion!

Thx Eleni.

Some other ideas:

  • Page Metadata area (comments, attachments, history, etc could be considered metadata).
  • Page Extra area (if we want to keep the « extra » part; it means it’s extra information about the page, ie extra to the content).

Re « insights », I guess you mean « Page Insights area », right?

Re « extended », I don’t see how you’d use that with « Page Extended area », it doesn’t work. And « Page Extension area » is too close to the concept of Extensions IMO.

WDYT?

Thx
