Reset XWiki Statistics

Dear Devs,

we are starting to use the xwiki statistics application. Is there any more documentation than in the extension page and here ?

  1. Where is the statistics data saved? I guess in the database schema? I located the tables xwikistatsdoc, xwikistatsreferer, xwikistatsvisit , is that everything thats recorded?
  2. How long is data retained? e.g. the past year or … ?
  3. Is there an official way to reset statistics data?
    3.1 if not, would you deem it safe to just delete the contents of xwikistatsdoc, xwikistatsreferer, xwikistatsvisit ?

Right now you’ll need to regularly clean them if you need to.

Yes. I don’t think we have an API to remove stats ATM (cannot find it in XWikiStatsStoreService).

Note: We recommend using Piwiki/Mamoto or some similar tools for stats when possible.
