XWiki newbie here. How come the search bar (see screenshot) identifies the attachment in which the search string was found, but the search page does not?

The search bar returns results from a set of predefined queries (attachments, page content, etc.).
Whereas, the search page returns results from the document by default.
You can see the Result type
section in the right pane on you screenshot, the Document
filter is checked. Therefore, the attachment results are not displayed by default.
If you uncheck Document
, more results will be displayed.
Note: we have an issue for this: Loading...
@mleduc, Thanks for the reply. I work with @dshadovi, and we were mightily confused by that result. It appears that “document” really refers to wiki pages, even though most of the attachments we’re expecting to use would be what our users would think of as “documents” (i.e., Word documents or PowerPoint presentations). The fact that the checkbox for attachments doesn’t even show up unless you uncheck documents is what led to that confusion. If the unselected options were displayed, that would help the naive user figure out that there are more options.
