Search suggestions don't work after upgrade to XWiki 16

On page load, the following resource fails to load: https://[[mywikihost]]/bin/get/XWiki/SearchSuggestCode

I assume that 's why the search suggestions aren’t showing. But why wouldn’t bin/get/XWiki/SearchSuggestCode load?

I saw I had an old version of the extension compared to my new XWiki version, so I uninstalled the extension and reinstalled version matching my XWiki version, and then everything worked again.
