I can easily share XWiki’s vision about collaboration in the open. And also its vision of the requirements of enterprise-level wiki software. Companies and different institutions set rules about access to information and documentation. Thus, I must fully understand and control search results before involving others to propose XWiki as a standard for development for docs and scripts (mainly Python by now) at our centre.
I’m playing with an updated XWiki instance on an Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS server installed from DEB packages. I fully updated that instance to release 15.10.4. I installed and updated the standard flavor and several extensions and added XWiki.XWikiRights objects to control accessibility to almost everything but a page listing part of our team. I set up the list as the home page for the default, and only wiki so far.
Now, I’m trying to understand the output of the following search submitted with no logged-in user:
The site is publicly available now. I’m including a a screenshot of the results for any further reference.
Please help me understand why most of the entries in the results are empty records. And why is the list 80 items long while I get 90 documents in the right column?
