Upgrading from 9.4 enterprise to 11.5

Hello,

Recently, i’ve upgraded successfully from 8.1 enterprise to 9.4 enterprise, without any problems.
Now i’m trying to upgrade from 9.4 enterprise to 11.5.
According to the guide, all i had to do, was to run “apt-get install xwiki-tomcat7-mysql” (i had installed xwiki-enterprise-tomcat7-mysql) and use the Distribution Wizard

The problem is that the Distribution Wizard never shows up and i get a blank page, with no errors.
Tomcat seems to be running, but according to the log, it is messed up.
I have attached the catalina.out

I’m not sure Tomcat 7 is working on Java9. Also it’s definitely not the version of Java you were using previously as there is really not much chance that XWiki 9.4 was working on Java 9. Even with 11.5 using Java 9 is really not recommended and you should either use Java 11 or go back to Java 8 (which is the safest in general and especially with Tomcat 7).

Well, i managed to upgrade successfully.
The problem was that the XWiki was set as root webapp.
In the xwiki-tomcat7.xml, the Context path was already "/" but the xwiki.cfg wasn’t configured.
So, all i had to do, was to uncomment xwiki.webapppath=
