Weblate as our new translation platform

Maybe it’s linked to https://l10n.xwiki.org/translate/xwiki-platform/xwiki-core-resources/fr/?checksum=93acfdb8ac94cc61 which I can not save with following translation:
Attention, cette action est définitive. Souhaitez-vous supprimer la version {0} ?

It’s Ok since 45s after more than one try :-1:.

EDIT : thanks for your monitoring (both forum topic and l10n server).

Have a good end of week-end :rofl::sweat_smile:

Hello all,
where can I read on the post and pre-processing scripts used in the weblate instance?
thanks
Paul

@polx The only place I know documenting the new weblate tools is on https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/Weblate%20Configuration/ Hope it helps.

There it is quite shallow but I finally found it a bit below. Should I try to link the names of the scripts to the github links?

Also, this page is saying that we’re still using XWiki (on top). This should be corrected, right?

The reason I ask, is that I’d like weblate to create XML files with CDATA so that copy and pasting can be done to another text editor. I’d need to evaluate whether the XML-library used would work for that.

paul

Sure. Make sure you use the {{scm}} macro (see https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Macros/SCM). Thanks!

I think I corrected this already.

Hello,

I have a problem with translating xwiki into Polish.
As I understood the new platform Weblate provides automatic update of translated texts. Or maybe it is not?
A few days ago texts have been translated into Polish, today the next package - on the Weblate platform. I see that they are accepted.
Unfortunately, these changes do not appear on my xwiki server. Do I need to perform some refresh operations on the server? Reload Tomcat or something else?
Previously, there was the ApplicationResources_pl.properties file that had to be uploaded to the Tomcat \ xwiki \ ROOT \ WEB-INF \ classes folder …
The files to be downloaded from the Weblate platform are in a different format than ApplicationResources_pl.properties, and besides, I only download a part of the translation? How to upload an updated translation to the server?

Hello PGA, ideally when you have a question is better to create a new forum topic.

Translations inside XWiki are committed and available on the version they have been committed in.

For example I think you are referring to this commit. This has been committed to master, so this means it will be available in the next XWiki release, in your case in 11.3-RC-1. According to the Roadmap this is supposed to be released on 22nd of April 2019. So you need to wait until that date for the translations to be released and available in the new XWiki version.

When you are looking at a released XWiki version, there is a Translations section that list improved translations, for example in 10.11.4.

In theory, when you have a new version of XWiki available for download, you need to go through the Upgrade process on the server side in order for the new features and translations to be available on your hosted instance.

BTW: Thank you for helping us with translations

It does but in the sources, not in your XWiki instance. So in practice it’s the same as before for users of released versions of XWiki, the change is more for translators and developers. It also means that translators appear in https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/ReleaseNotes/Data/XWiki/11.2/#HCredits and their contributions appear in their http://www.github.com profile (when you register).

Ok, thank you for the quick and clear answer.
