I’m new to the forum so apologies if I mess up on the rules!
I have an odd issue with a nav item that will not go away. Some of my users were creating new content and there was an issue with a page they were working on so they decided to delete it however the nav item remained. They’ve also began work on a similar page in the same path. The below is only to show what they’ve done i.e. created a new page in place of the page they tried to delete. The new page has the same name except for a space at the end.
Original - “xWiki_Area.sub1.sub2.first page” → delete → nav item still there
New- "xWiki_Area.sub1.sub2.first page "
When I click the link to the deleted page from navigation I see the usual;
“The requested page could not be found
You can edit this page to create it
Were you looking for one of the following pages instead?
…
Recycle bin stuff.”
I’ve tried to restore this page from the recycle bin to try deleting again however it creates a new entry in navigation with the same name AND also creates a duplicate of the new page that the team is currently working on! I tried deleting the unwanted page again and both new duplicate nav items go away but we’re still left with the unwanted nav item.
Sub tree
- unwanted page without space in name
- new page they’re working on with space in name
After recycle bin restore;
Sub tree
- unwanted page without space in name
- unwanted page without space in name
- new page they’re working on with space in name
- new page they’re working on with space in name
After deleting EITHER unwanted page it goes back to how it was before.
Weird right?
