XWiki 13.0 released

The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of XWiki 13.0.

This release introduces the new Live Data macro and starts using it in the Administration Logging section. Additionally, administration sections now get proper rights handling by inheriting from each of their authors. Under the hood, struts had finally been replaced by XWiki components, the “viewrev” action has been deprecated and changes have been made to the rights that a script has when executing.

I just updated from 12.10.2 to 13.0 accidently as I wasn’t paying attention to the version number. I thought I was updating to 12.10.3.

That said, it went without a hitch.

Also, and I cannot really quantify it exactly, but 13.0 feels a lot snappier when going through the admin interface than it did in 12.x.

The extension update process is the fastest I have ever seen it. Easily 1/3rd to 1/2 the time it used to take.

I’m not sure what you did, but I sure like the results.

[edit: Definitely snappier all around]

I don’t know what we did either  Maybe we got lucky! We removed Struts but I doubt it would have such an impact.
