XWiki 14.0 Release Candidate 1 released

The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of XWiki 14.0 Release Candidate 1.

This is the first release of 14.x cycle which introduces the drop of Java 8: XWiki now requires Java 11 to work. As part of this cycle we’re also dropping support of Internet Explorer 11. This release includes new work to allow refactoring of attachments, a few new UI extension points for developpers and better explanatory messages when macro are missing, among other improvments.

You can download it here: Download XWiki (XWiki.org)

Will you be able to provide any information on any changes or recommendations for moving to the Java 11 JRE for XWiki, as in CG parameters? Any recommendations on Tomcat 8 vs. Tomcat >8?
Thanks.

Re JVM params, nothing specific, they are the one for running the servlet container. You can find what we use for xwiki.org at https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Performances/#HMemory

Re Tomcat, here’s what we support: https://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/SupportStrategy/ServletContainerSupportStrategy/ (note that we don’t support tomcat 8 anymore, meaning we don’t test with it).
