Hi devs,

Here’s the XS 14.1 roadmap proposal.

Content for 14.1

XWiki Standard

  • Outstanding from 14.0:

    • New PDF Export with HTML coming from the client side - Marius
    • Image display in view mode using a lightbox - Lavinia
      • Will be finished before 14.0 final normally. Keeping here as a reminder in case it isn’t.
    • Rewrite Active Installs to use ES 7.x - Vincent
      • To use the latest version of ES but also to make the build work with java 11
      • Loading...
    • Close some issues that were blocked by the move to Java 11 - Vincent (and whoever wants)
    • Image caption support in XWiki Syntax - Michael
    • Finish Realtime for 13.x - Marius
    • Continue working on LiveTable to Live Data migrations - Michael

  • New work:

    • Attachment renaming - Manuel
    • More WebJar upgrades - Marius
    • Attachments pagination - Lavinia
    • New CKEditor image dialog for consistent styling and more - Manuel
      • Design page + forum post
    • Cleanup work from moving to HTML 5 - Michael
      • Loading...
      • Loading... (most likely fixed by fixing the previous issue)
      • Switch HTMLCleaner to HTML 5 by default or change code using HTMLCleaner to use the HTML 5 configuration, depending on the result of the discussion in the forum: Switching to HTML5

Contrib & Others

  • Outstanding from 14.0 timeframe:

    • Add support for the new Image Caption syntax in the Content Numbering Extension - Michael
    • Add support for the new Image Caption syntax in the LaTeX Renderer - Michael
    • Content Numbering UI Activation - Michael
      • All work done, waiting to depend on XS 14.0.

  • New work:

    • Change Request - Simon
      • Scheduler for closing inactive CR
      • Better integration of approvers
    • Replication 0.9 - Thomas
    • FASTEN work - Thomas
      • FASTEN Extension with reporting of security vulnerabilities in installed extensions
    • Infra:
      • Upgrade of XWiki.org to next LTS (13.10.2 or 13.10.3) - Simon

Other:

  • All: BFDs on Thursdays
  • All: Fix flickers
  • All: With the time left, fix some critical/major open bugs. Take them from the critical list of open bugs

Dates

  • 14.1 RC1: 21st of February 2022
  • 14.1 Final: 28th of February 2022
