Hello,
we are evaluating to use Confluence or XWiki. No offense, but Confluence works like a charm and out of the box. XWiki feels very much like a construction site. The price is the same for both tools, but I like the open source approach from XWiki.
I use a trial account at xwiki.com. Task managing is very important for us, but that isnt working at all.
Sorry you’re having problems with this extension. Note that it’s not an extension supported by the XWiki Dev team. See “developed by” on https://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Task%20Manager%20Application . Those 2 developers are no longer active so I guess this extension has not been tested / worked on for a while.
I don’t use this extension but no it doesn’t seem right, since the goal of Kanban is to move stuff around
Maybe there’s some incompatibility issue with the version of XWiki you’re using and the version of the Task Manager you use. Someone would need to test this.
Sure its the same price. Confluence cloud costs me 10 bucks each month, same goes for Xwiki.com.
But yes, Confluence has a very good task managing system, what XWiki not have. So XWiki.com seams very overpriced.
I thought the Task Manager is still develped, because of that:

I think that is now what we are looking for. We need a ready to use solution.
I think there’s a confusion. You are here on the xwiki open source project (forum.xwiki.org). This is not xwiki.com You can definitely install XWiki for free on your own servers. XWiki is free! This is not the case for Confluence.
Aside: I think we don’t live in the same world if you think that 10 euros / month for 10 users is overpriced. At this price I doubt that XWiki SAS makes any money at all.
You should also know that XWiki SAS has been sponsoring developers to build the XWiki software for years (for 14 years actually) and all the money it makes goes back to the open source software (that the majority of users, i.e. 99% of XWiki users uses for free). When you give money to XWiki SAS you help the XWiki open source projects and allows it to continue.
BTW re Confluence, I don’t know what task manager you’re talking about since i don’t know Confluence well. If you’re talking about Task Manager for Confluence | Atlassian Marketplace it seems to cost 10 euros/month for 10 users just for the extension. Is that correct?
Now back to the issue, what you could do is to report the issue in jira and describe precisely the versions you used and the steps you took to get the problems.
Sorry, I didn’t understand what you meant by “what we’re looking for”. Could you explain?
@ilie.andriuta mentioned to me today that he’ll test it once XWiki 10.10 has been released to see how it behaves. Would be great if you could checked open issues at Loading... and added new ones if none of the existing ones match what you’re experiencing. This will allow Ilie to try to reproduce the problems you’re facing.
I’ve tested Task Manager Application v2.4.1 on XWiki 10.10 (using mainly Microsoft Edge/ PostgreSQL 10) and I found only one issue (Loading... - related to the fact that the entries are created as nested pages), apart from the existing issues (not yet fixed, or fixed in version 2.5 which is not yet released). If you’re experiencing some specific problems or use cases, please open issues at Loading..., so we can test and reproduce them. Thanks!
