We have recently upgraded to 17.10.14, but I now notice that all of our YUML diagrams show “please migrate” in the bottom right of the YUML.
We are using the YUML Macro 1.1
Not sure how I can “migrate”…
Does anyone have any pointers where to look?
Hi,
The message does not come from the extension, but from the renderer itself (yuml.me). It looks like they changed their API, and now add this warning to every diagram to let users know about this change.
The extension would need to be updated by its maintainer, but in the meantime you can make the update by going to the page Main.yUMLMacro and edit the WikiMacroClass XObject:
Replace the “Macro code” body with:
{{velocity}}
#set ($type = $context.macro.params.type)
#set ($style = $context.macro.params.style)
#set ($scale = $context.macro.params.scale)
#set ($dir = $context.macro.params.dir)
#set ($normalized = $context.macro.content.replaceAll("\s\s+|\n|\r", ", "))
#if ("$!scale" != "")
#set ($scaleParam = ";scale=$scale;")
#end
#if ("$!dir" != "")
#set ($dirParam = ";dir=$dir;")
#end
{{html clean="false"}}
<img src="https://app.yuml.me/diagram/v1/$type/$style$!scaleParam$!dirParam/${escapetool.url($normalized).replace('+', '%20')}.svg"/>
{{/velocity}}
And save.
Note that the new API might have a slightly different display compared to the previous one.
Hope it helps.
Hello @HamsterNL
I wrote this extension initially (in 2009) but haven’t worked on it for ages, so it’s very likely oldish. Thanks @pjeanjean for providing a workaround.
I’m not too enthousiastic about supporting that extension myself anymore (because I’m working on too many things already). I think we need to decide to either create a repo for it on GitHub and find someone to maintain (if anyone is interested, let me know), or just deprecate it.
Couldn’t you move to some newer extensions like the PlantUML one (which is maintained)?
Thx
We have only recently upgraded from 5.4.3 to 17.10.14, so we were still using some old macros. I have made the change in the yUML Macro, and I also installed the PlantUML (which offers quite some options). So thanks to both of you!
