How to: Allow unregistered users to view, but hide User Directory, Page Index, and Application Index pages

If you want to allow unregistered users to view your XWiki instance, you may not want unregistered users to be able to view the User Directory, Page Index, and Application Index pages (particularly for an Internet-accessible XWiki instance).

If you need to, here’s how I set it up:

Interesting but nor the above page nor your wiki is “readable” by guests

Regards,

Works fine for me (not authenticated, guest).

Thanks, now it’s working fine for me too … yesterday I receive “you are not authorized to view this page …”.

I will have a look to your wiki and I may even request a personnal account to follow your pages :grinning:.

Hi, it’s weird because I still have an error with my “regular browser” the one I use to manage my own wiki on myxwiki.org! See …

Note:

  • logged in or not logged in with my “global” xwiki account does not make any difference
  • using an other browser is Ok.

Request  can you please give my user (xrichard) the same rights as guest on your wiki to check if it solves the pb?

Thanks,

I just changed the membership to “local users only.” Perhaps that will fix it?

This also hides search index for unregistered. The hints from searchbox will show up (hints to viewable pages) but not the search index after pressing “enter” keyboard button.
