I’d like to start a new initiative, which is to do regular online meetups where users and developers of XWiki can meet and discuss problems, ideas, tell others what they’re doing with XWiki, etc.
I think we’re missing a bit of visual interactions and while the Forum is great for asking questions, some visual meetup would also help create a stronger community bond.
WDYT?
Since it’s going to be hard to agree on a date for everyone and since this is a personal initiative that I’d like to lead, I’m going to propose to do this once per month at a fixed date/time, and then see how it goes.
Good idea but for me it’s not a dev initiative; It’s more for users of XWiki and I’d prefer to either have a blog post about each meetup agenda or somehow included on http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/News
Anyway I’d like to see how the first one goes before pushing it too fast. I don’t want to make it too “official” for the moment and right now I consider this to be a personal initiative. We can decide later on if we want it to be a project’s initiative and promoted as part of the XWiki project on xwiki.org.
oh cool @nickhil Initially I gave the wrong link (I gave the youtube one instead of the hangout one). Next time I’ll improve. I’ll schedule the next meeting sometime today.
I need to find out why the youtube live recording only recorded Keith’s face instead of recording the face of the speaker (hangout switches the webcam to the speaker’s face). If anyone has an idea, let me know so that we can improve the second meetup recording. Thx
